The Tumbling Process
Each stage removes the marks left by the one before it. If the stone is not ready, I do not move it forward just to save time.
Coarse
Coarse grit begins shaping the stone and working away deep surface flaws.
Medium
Medium grit smooths the scratches and rough edges left behind by shaping.
Fine
Fine grit prepares an even, clean surface that is ready to accept a polish.
Polish
The final stage reveals the depth, color, pattern, and natural character of the stone.

Does the heavy shaping and removes the deepest imperfections.
120/220 Medium
Refines the shape and smooths the marks left by coarse grit.
500 Fine
Creates the smooth surface needed before the final polish.
